W&M Speybridge (2013-2024) - Classic Selection

A particularly long 48-month finish in a first-fill Oloroso cask has given this Speyside Single Malt the perfect touch. Despite its youth, it already reveals exceptional complexity and richness. On the nose, the initial notes are vinous and spicy, with that typical Oloroso note of dry astringency and nuttiness. It continues with pepper and red cherry notes: a true Sherry "monster"! But it's on the palate that it truly reveals its maturity and nuances: while it is vinous and spicy, it is also surprisingly pastry-like. There are toasted cereals, freshly baked bread, a touch of strongly brewed tea, all supported by a robust mineral structure. On the finish, it becomes peppery, nutty, and oaky again, but remains dry, firm, and crisp.
