W&M Linkwood (2014-2024) - Classic Selection

The casks selected for this bottling were finished for 34 months in first-fill Oloroso casks. Highly aromatic and profound in its olfactory impression, this Single Malt truly exudes a "vintage" style. A touch of beeswax, oaky notes, a little honey, and ripe peaches accompany the astringent and nutty notes of the Sherry. On the palate, it is actually sweeter than expected: chestnut honey, rose petals, a hint of raisins, ripe bananas, and dried apricots. It is rich and fleshy, but not heavy, with the dryness of the Oloroso giving it a taut, lively structure. On the finish, it becomes very mineral, while remaining quite smooth and moderately oaky.
