A Sherry-aged single malt from the coastal town of Fort William. A long 55-month aging in a first-fill Oloroso cask has allowed it to mature to perfection, developing a full and juicy profile. On the nose, it is not particularly fruity; it tends more towards a tannic style, rich in notes of leather, wood, liquorice, and bitter dark chocolate. On the palate, it is extremely full-bodied: fruity and "winey," certainly, but decidedly dry. There are pronounced notes of pepper and cinnamon, powerful and fleshy tannins, orange peel, a distinct touch of black tea, and a slight hint of clay and camphor. It is a smooth but characterful whisky, with a clear oxidative note, unique to Oloroso. The intensity of the flavors is at times almost overwhelming, with the appetizing bitterness of the wood and dark chocolate becoming particularly pronounced towards the end of the tasting.

Tasting notes

Nose: Tannic, leather, wood, licorice, dark chocolate

Mouth: Slightly fruity, pepper, cinnamon, storm bark, black tea

Final: Long, intense, delicious
